LEWISTON — Calvary United Methodist Church will say goodbye to the Rev. Casey Collins at her last service of worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 21, at 59 Sabattus St.

She has been the pastor for eight years.

The Rev. Collins was recently appointed by Bishop Sudarshana Devadhar of the New England United Methodist Church Conference to serve the Milford United Methodist Church in Milford, N.H., where she will begin this new ministry on July 1.

Since entering ministry 23 years ago, the Rev. Collins, an elder in the United Methodist Church, has served Maine parishes in very different settings including Peaks Island and a new church in Gray.

Calvary has been unique for her in that it is an inner city church that reaches out to all of God’s children no matter what walk of life or where they are in their journey with God. During the course of her ministry at Calvary, she has served in many leadership positions with the community including chair of the Lewiston/Auburn area interfaith clergy, member of the Board of Directors of Advocates for Children and executive director of Calvary City Mission.

The Rev. Collins led Calvary UMC through the process of becoming “Reconciling,” affirming that every person is loved by God, regardless of who they are or whom they love.
