1935 – 2015
AUBURN — Roland R. Gould, 79, of Auburn passed away on Saturday, June 13, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 17, 1935, to son of W. Victor Sr. and Leonita (Pare) Gould. He attended local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1955. He achieved Eagle Scout while a member of the Boy Scouts.
Roland married his wife, Loanne Gould, on July 5, 1969, and together they raised their two sons.
Roland worked for the city of Auburn Public Works for 37 years as a skilled maintenance worker before he retired in November 1997. He was also a Seabee for two years.
His true passion for 50 years was assembling what he referred to as miniature warrior models, and he loved to play cribbage. Roland had a very special cat that he spent a lot of time with named Piper and a very close friend, Cindy Dubois.
He is survived by his two sons, Paul and wife Debbie Gould, and William Gould; a loved and cherished granddaughter, Andrea Gould; two brothers, Vic Jr. and his wife, Claire Gould, and John and his wife, Louise Gould; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife in 2008.
