In March, after her mother retired, Veronica Cedre renamed Terry & Veronica’s Bridal Fashions to Veronica’s Bridal Fashions and moved the longtime downtown bridal fixture from Lisbon Street to Howe Street.

Last week, she tossed in the bouquet.

“There was no traffic,” Cedre said.

She closed that shop, but she’s still plenty busy.

For 30 years, Cedre had split her time between her mother’s shop and Veronica’s Creations, a custom seamstress and wedding design shop run out of her home in Greene. She’ll keep that up and have gowns there, too.

“Everything keeps going on,” Cedre said.

What was once one . . .

Amanda Chasse Flower’s business is going a little flat.

The Edward Little grad who’s launched ChasseChic Shoes and applied for a patent around her design for a dress-it-up, dress-it-down customizable 3.9-inch black leather pump, added a second shoe this month — a black leather flat.

Her inspiration for the line had been to give young professionals an easy wardrobe start without having to buy a closet full of shoes. This gives them one more option, she said.

She’s designed the heels and flats, made from Brazilian leather, to work with her ChicCessories, snap-on bows and belts that dress up the the shoe’s toes.

“We’ve been in business for about seven months now and in the next week, three different fashion bloggers will showcase our shoes to their combined 30,000 followers,” Flower said.

Home base is now Atlanta, but Flower said via email that she’s coming to Lewiston-Auburn for the Fourth of July.

“I can’t wait to eat a Sam’s Italian every day!”

Vying to vie

Forty-four quarterfinalists will vie for 26 spots on Saturday for the new Maine-based TV show “Project Greenlight,” according to MaineBiz.

And three of them are from our area.

The competition is “Shark Tank”-esque with companies competing for a minimum $100,000 prize. The show will start airing on WCSH and WLBZ in September.

The local finalists: Blue Ox Malthouse, founded by Joel Alex in Lisbon Falls; Mingle Analytics, founded by Daniel Mingle in Paris; and Sensible Smiles, founded by Joann Moulton in Hanover.

Good luck, and light it up!
