WOLFEBORO, N.H. — Theodore Emil “Ted” Reissfelder, 81, of Auburn and formerly of Center Ossipee, N.H., passed away Thursday, June 18, at Wolfeboro Bay Center in Wolfeboro, N.H.
A native of Ossipee, N.H., he was born on Sept. 11, 1933, to Theodore Arthur and Pauline (Burleigh) Reissfelder. He grew up in Moultonville, N.H., and attended the United Methodist Church there with his family. He was educated at the Ossipee Central School, where he was a member of both the basketball and baseball teams. He graduated from Kennett High School in North Conway, N.H., and studied engineering at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, N.H. He later joined the U.S. Army and served honorably from 1955 to 1957.
Ted enjoyed waterskiing and skiing and met his wife, Therese L. Giguere, while she was on a ski vacation in North Conway, N.H. They were married on April 19, 1963, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston.
He worked as a draftsman at the Bates Mill for many years. After Bates closed, he worked at Bachmann Industries/WahlcoMetroflex as an AutoCAD draftsman. He and his wife kept a home on Broad Bay of Ossipee Lake in Ossipee, N.H., until 2006.
Ted was well-known as a craftsman and handyman who constructed houses, built many beautiful pieces of furniture and crafted numerous decorative rock walls. Many of the items he drafted while at Bachmann Industries were fabricated there and incorporated into power plants built around the world.
He is survived by his two children, Tyson P. of Lewiston, his wife, Louise (LeBlond), and their two children, Jillian and Caleb; and Tammy A. Mansfield of Sheridan, Wyo., her husband, Jeffrey, and their two children, Katharine and Nathan; and his sisters, Peggy Smith of Concord, N.H., Nancy Hoppe of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.; and Ted’s companion, Barbara (Donnelly) Campbell, of Glen, N.H.
He is predeceased by his wife, Therese; and brother, William “Billy” Reissfelder.
