Bridge game winners announced
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship on June 22 were as follows: first, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; second, Leslie Lord and Les Buzzell; third, Jan and Vern Arey; fourth/fifth tie, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock with Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
Winners of the June 23 club championship were: first, Paul Sherman and Mike True; second, Hazel Glazier and Jeanine Kivus; third/fourth tie, Rosemarie Goodwin and George Dumas with Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fifth, Patricia Quinn and Richard Balian; first in B and C, Kathleen Burden and Sue Kaluzynski; second in B, Ellie and George Wigton.
A special event STaC (sectional tournament at clubs) game will be played on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30.
Games are played at 9 a.m. every Monday and Tuesday in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed and all bridge players are welcome.

Pownal UMC to hold supper
POWNAL — The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road in Pownal, will be holding a public baked bean and spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 4.
The meal will be three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits and brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies. Adults; $8, children 4-12; $3, under three free. Wheelchair accessible.

Maine Educational Opportunity Center holding free workshops
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop entitled Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and older.
The workshop will be offered at the Western Maine University and Community College Center, 232 Main St., on Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m.

Court Street Baptist Church to hold ‘Lift Up America’
AUBURN — Court Street Baptist Church will present “Lift Up America” at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 5. The presentation is a musical celebration of the birth of America.
Participating in the event will be: Flo Annear; Jan and Eric Bunford; Dan Burgess; Pastor Dave and Wandah Clark; Pam Cooper; the Court Street Baptist Chime Choir; the CSBC Vocal Ensemble; Annette Dorey; Kathy Haley; Shawna Haley-Bear; Marge Muise; Mike Parker and Alda Reynolds.
Fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. The church is at 129 Court St. in Auburn.

LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop entitled Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and older.
