WINDHAM (AP) — State police say the inmate who died this week at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

Department of Corrections officials said 51-year-old Jeppie Phillips, of Lewiston, died on Monday morning.

At the time of his death, Phillips had served approximately seven weeks of a nine-month sentence for operating after habitual offender revocation, with two prior convictions.

He was sentenced in Sagadahoc County Superior Court.

Phillips was the second inmate to die in June at the correctional center. Harold Gleason, 67, also died of natural causes.
