Maine State Police said burglaries at Skoolhouse Variety in Weld and Our Family Variety in New Vineyard may be linked to one in Jay early Wednesday morning.

Two men broke into Skoolhouse Variety on School Street through the front door and stole cigarettes, alcohol and chewing tobacco, Trooper Andrew Hardy said. One of them was white and has short dark hair; the other was black with a slender build and thick-rimmed glasses, he said. They were wearing gloves and blue bandanas to cover their faces.

State Police are also investigating a burglary at Our Family Variety, Hardy said.

Police are investigating a burglary at My Dad’s Place in Jay that occurred about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
