A grant from the Community Building Grant Program of the Maine Community Foundation has enabled the Waterford Library to build two raised beds behind the library building. The goals of the project are to build community among Waterford residents by working together and sharing gardening skills. The library is looking for guest lecturers that would like to speak about gardening or farming. They also need gardeners to weed, water and harvest.
The historic librarian’s apartment is for rent on Airbnb this summer. The apartment is fully furnished in the back of the library with one bedroom that has two twin beds and one bath. There is a minimum stay of two nights at $75 per night.
