FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to dozens of calls, conducted six elder checks and 57 building checks between July 4 and July 10. Two of the buildings were unlocked. Among the calls were:
* July 4, Cpl. Christopher Chase investigated a truck hitting Anni’s Market in Kingfield. The driver of a Toyota pickup truck had the accelerator stick as he pulled in, causing his vehicle to ram the supports of the deck of the building.
* July 4, Deputy Nicholas Zecher investigated a single-vehicle accident on the Salem Road in Salem Township. The driver lost control as he traveled east, causing the vehicle to cross the road and roll over several times into a swamp. The vehicle contained three Indian nationals who were in a rental car from Connecticut.
* July 4, Deputy Nicholas Zecher investigated another complaint of noise on the Fish Hatchery Road in Salem Township.
* July 4, Cpl. Nathan Bean assisted the Maine Forestry Service by arresting Robert Woodham, 40, of Lewiston on a warrant after he was found by a forestry officer in Letter E Township.
* July 5, Deputy Sandy Burke investigated a report of gunfire on Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville. It was determined that a resident there was shooting skeet on his property.
* July 5, Cpl. Nathan Bean investigated a single-vehicle accident on the Dixfield Road in Weld. A 17-year-old was distracted while making adjustments to a radio, lost control of her vehicle and it rolled over. The driver received minor injuries.
* July 5, Cpl. Christopher Chase assisted Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with a transportation request.
* July 5, Cpl. Christopher Chase assisted Wilton Police Department with an investigation of vandalism to an aboveground pool on High Street. A juvenile was charged with the crime.
* July 6, Deputy Sandy Burke responded to a car-moose accident on Mile Hill Road in New Sharon. The car received significant damage, the moose ran away.
* July 6, Cpl. Christopher Chase responded to a 911 hang-up call on the New Vineyard Road in New Vineyard. It was determined to be an accidental call.
* July 7, Deputy Sandy Burke investigated a harassment complaint on Avon Valley Road in Avon.
* July 7, Cpl. Christopher Chase conducted a welfare check on the Industry Road in Industry.
* July 7, Deputy Sandy Burke responded to Gilkey Hill Road in Freeman Township for a report of trees in the road.
* July 7, Deputy Sandy Burke and Cpl. Christopher Chase investigated a report of an assault on Cape Cod Hill Road in New Sharon.
* July 8, Cpl. Nathan Reid recovered two bicycles found on Cape Cod Hill Road in New Sharon.
* July 8, Deputy Kevin Hartley responded to a trespass complaint on Bailey Hill Road in New Sharon.
* July 8, Deputy Kevin Hartley responded to a report of a dog left in a car in Strong, the owner had the windows down.
*On July 8, Deputy Sandy Burke conducted a welfare check on the York Hill Road in New Sharon.
* July 8, Cpl. Nathan Reid responded to a car-deer accident on the River Road in Avon. The deer died at the scene and the car sustained reportable damage.
* July 8, Deputy Colt Bernhardt conducted a probation check on the Smith Road in New Sharon. As a result, Amber Ladd was arrested on a warrant and Jason Ladd was arrested on a charge of violation of conditions of release.
* July 9, Deputy Kevin Hartley arrested Greg Dowling on a warrant on Cape Cod Hill Road in New Sharon.
* July 9, Cpl. Christopher Chase responded to a disturbance on the Earl Road in Farmington.
* July 10, Deputy Colt Bernhardt responded to a 911 hang-up complaint on the Falls Road in Carthage. There have been several calls from this location and it appears to be a computer issue.
* July 10, Deputy Colt Bernhardt responded to a report of a male in a car watching two young girls in the park in Wilton.
