1955 – 2015
MONMOUTH — Alicia C. Parker, 60, of Monmouth passed away very unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, at her new home in Monmouth.
She was born in Portland on Jan. 17, 1955, the daughter of Theodore W. Gilliam Sr. and Helen Lorring Gilliam. Alicia attended grade school in Portland and also Portland High School.
Alicia was married to Wayne V. Parker of Carmel on Oct. 22, 1994, in Carmel.
She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and sister and was also a homemaker. Alicia enjoyed doing search word puzzles, watching the birds in her yard, fishing, bingo and gardening. She was a very caring, compassionate and strong woman; she loved helping people and didn’t care if it was a stranger.
Alicia is survived by her husband, Wayne V. Parker of Monmouth; her son, John Gilliam, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her daughter, Jessica and David Peterson of Lewiston; four grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Gilliam of Portland and Theodore Gilliam Jr. of Norridgewock; and her sister, Ellie of Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Clayton Gilliam; and a half-brother, John Delphonse.
