1945 – 2015
AUBURN — Louis P. Bourgoin, 70, of Lisbon passed away on Thursday, July 16, with his family by his side at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Lewiston on March 16, 1945, the son of Albert and Rose Chasse Bourgoin. He attended local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School before entering the service. Louis served his country in the U.S. Army for three years before leaving and going back to school to get his associate’s degree in electricity. He worked for Sprague Industries as a receiving and loading clerk before he retired. In May 2000, he married his wife, Katherine, and they were married for 14 years, raising their family. He could frequently be found working on his crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together and playing bingo. Louis was a lifelong member of The Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church.
Louis is survived by his wife, Katherine; his boys, Peter and his wife, Amy Bourgoin, of Texas, Jeffrey and his wife, Shelly Bourgoin, of Oklahoma, Gregory and his wife, Angela Bourgoin, of New Mexico, and Robert Bourgoin of New Mexico; stepchildren, Michael and his wife, Dian Bourgoin, of Winthrop, and Daniel and his wife, Linda Bourgoin, of Auburn; his daughters, Caroline Bourgoin of Lisbon, and Brenda Bourgoin of Lewiston; his sisters, Theresa Daignault, Jeannette Boudoin, Sister Jelbert Desrosier, Ailine Provencher and Pauline Coolidge; and his brothers, Roger and George Bourgoin; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
