Underwood Library hosting story time
FAYETTE — The Underwood Memorial Library will hold story hours Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. throughout the summer until Aug. 20.
American Legion to hold pig roast
RUMFORD — The Rumford American Legion Post 24 will host a Korean Veteran’s Appreciation Day pig roast from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
Pork, chicken, salads and dessert will be served. The cost is $8 for non-members, and $5 for members. Children younger than 10 are $4.
All Korean War veterans eat free. The event is open to the public.

Bake sale to benefit homemakers
CHESTERVILLE — A benefit bake sale will be held at Tuesday, July 28, at the Chesterville Town Office on Dutch Gap Road. The sale will begin at 1 p.m. and be open until the food is gone .
The sale will benefit the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers to continue their free town events and charity work.

Senior citizens to hold barbecue
PERU — The Rumford Senior Citizens will be having a barbecue with music by Dennis Moro at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29.
They ask that those planning on attending to let them know if they prefer a hamburger, hot dog or veggie burger. There will also be salad.

TURNER — Stephens High School Class of 1965 luncheon will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Four Seasons Golf Club on Route 17.

Senior citizens to host trip
PERU — The Rumford Senior Citizens will host a mystery trip at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 31, from the old Peru school. Admission is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. There will be a bathroom on the bus. Those who plan on attending should prepare to pay for their own lunch.
Those attending will return between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
