AUBURN — Pauline M. Gagnon, 67, of Auburn died Wednesday, July 22, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston Dec. 24, 1947, a daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Girouard Gagnon. She attended St. Joseph’s Church in New York prior to relocating to Auburn, where she resided for the past 10 months.
Pauline was brought up in Lewiston and graduated from Patchogue High School in New York in the Class of 1965. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967 to June 1971. She worked as a clerical worker at Brookhaven National Laboratory for over 30 years. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt to many.
Pauline will be remembered for love of family and helping others. She always loved to sit at the water, reading a book, going bowling and the monthly plays at the local theater. Pauline will be remembered by all for always being there whenever she was called on, whether it be to lend an ear or a hand, she could always be counted on. Her exceptional character, love and open arms will be missed by all.
She is survived by her sister, Connie Perno and husband, Greg, of New York; her brothers, Paul Gagnon Jr. of North Carolina, and Normand Gagnon and wife, Judi, of Auburn; a stepsister, Michele Mannino of Florida; stepbrother-in-law, Billy Gazzola of New York; uncle, Roland Girouard and wife, Mary Jane, of Lewiston; seven nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank all the medical staff at Central Maine Medical Center, as well as the Hospice House of Androscoggin for the incredible care of Pauline.
