1984 – 2015
CHINA — Joshua Michael Salois, 31, of China died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, in an automobile accident.
Joshua was born in Boston, Mass., on June 13, 1984, and grew up in Whitefield.
Joshua was a graduate of Cony High School and the Capital Area Technical Center. He attended Central Maine Community College.
A lifelong hockey player, Joshua played for many years with the Kennebec Valley Youth Hockey Association and the Cony High School team.
Joshua loved the outdoors, especially hiking, fishing, camping and observing wildlife with his dog at his side. A talented motorcycle rider, Josh competed in hare scrambles and trial competitions with his dad.
Joshua was a skilled carpenter, mechanic, machinist and problem solver. He generously shared his time and skills with neighbors and friends. Most recently, Josh was restoring his home and working with his dad to renovate the family’s summer cottage in Litchfield.
Josh’s life was significantly impacted by addiction. He worked until his last days to overcome this challenge. Through it all, Josh maintained his true spirit.
Josh will be remembered for his great stories, his sense of humor and his generous heart.
Joshua was predeceased by his grandparents, Donald and Judith Paiewonsky.
Josh leaves behind his partner, Tricia “Trish” Healey of China; his parents, Paul and Cristina Salois of Whitefield; sisters, Rachel Salois, Rebecca Salois and her husband, Matthew Schofield, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandparents, Bernadette Salois of Shrewsbury, Mass. and Paul and Sarah Salois of Sandwich, Mass. Josh also leaves behind a large family of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
