MEXICO — A local woman was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with breaking into a home and stealing a wallet, Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said Wednesday afternoon.

An arrest warrant was issued for a second person in the case, he said.

Nicole Belskis, 31, of Chase Avenue, is charged with one count of burglary, two counts of theft and one count of violation of condition of release. The charges stem from a break-in at a Middle Avenue home July 24 when a wallet was taken. She is also accused of shoplifting at Wal-Mart, he said.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Dana McKeen, 29, of Mexico, on one count each of burglary and theft for the July 24 burglary and theft, Hodsdon said.

“We were able to locate Belskis by recovering video footage of the suspects in the area,” Hodsdon said. “Right now, we’re looking for McKeen. We haven’t found him yet, but we want people to be aware that there is a warrant out for his arrest.”

Belskis was taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris, the chief said.
