DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a gift certificate from Mr. Bernard’s Beauty School in Lewiston. Since they have closed I have no address or phone number that I can reach to see if they can refund my certificate value. Also, one of their instructors owned a beauty salon in the Lewiston area. I would like to know where so I can continue my haircuts. I used to go there for scalp treatments and since they are closed, I am looking for someone who gives them. Thank you! — No Name in Auburn.
ANSWER: Sun Spots has been asked how to contact the now-closed hair school in the past so again tried the only public phone number the business used but it has been disconnected. You didn’t want your name published so if the instructor who used to cut your hair reads this column, he/she won’t know who is looking for him/her.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am hoping to find a Mission-style twin-size platform bed that has drawers for storage. I would like to purchase something made in Maine. They do have one available at Bedderrest, but I would like more choices. There used to be a Maine-made furniture store next to Republic Jewelry, but they have been gone for a while. Do you have anyone in your list for the Lewiston-Auburn area that makes furniture? — No Name in Auburn.

We are also the stewards of the Foss Mansion at 19 Elm Street in Auburn built for Horatio and Ella Foss between 1914 to 1917. We will be celebrating the mansion’s 100th anniversary before you know it and are planning ahead.
