1936 – 2015

NORWAY — Elias P. McKeen Jr., 79, of West Paris passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Norway, with his family by his side.

He was born May 1, 1936, in West Paris, the son of Elias and Impi (Pulkinnen) McKeen. He attended school in West Paris at what is now Agnes Gray School.

He worked at Paris Manufacturing Co., Wilners, Francine Shoe Shop and L.M. Longley & Son. He had his own business, E.P. McKeen caretaking, for several years before retiring.

Elias was a talker and liked socializing with people wherever he went. He also enjoyed spending time outside, mowing his lawn, picking blueberries and taking care of his yard. But most of all, he loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren, cruising in the car and going out to eat.

He is survived by a son, Lynn McKeen and wife, Melissa, of South Paris; daughters, Lisa Connor and husband, Dave, of Virginia, Becky Woodman and husband, Dickie, of North Carolina and Janet Everett and husband, Scott, of West Paris; grandchildren, Aimee, Alyson, Lyndsey Belle, Tyler, Casey, Ryan, Elizabeth and Sarah; sisters, Mary and husband, Leonard Lovejoy, Gloria and husband, Glen Gray, and Sonja and husband, Victor Haverninen; and brother, Henry McKeen.
