SKOWHEGAN (AP) — One of Maine’s largest summer agricultural fairs is set to get started in Skowhegan.
The Skowhegan State Fair will take place from Thursday until Aug. 22 at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds, just north of the Kennebec River. The fair brought more than 6,000 entries to its agricultural, arts, crafts, cattle and other shows last year.
The fair also includes a demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, horse pulling, a draft horse show and a Midway with rides and games.
Organizers expect that it will attract thousands of exhibitors, as it does every year.
