MINOT — Sam and Darlene Thomas of Minot recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. The couple was married in Mechanic Falls on July 14, 1990. The party was held beach side at Parker Pond in Casco at the home of the couple’s friends, Phil and Lucy Jackson. The party, which was planned by the couple, was themed “Rustic Redneck” and included a pig roast.
All of the food at the party was made by family and friends. The amazingly beautiful cake, which looked like a birch tree, was made by Becca Duchette of East Poland. The couple is a fun couple who like to laugh. There was plenty of fun and laughter, playing and watching the many games they had, such as yard Yahtzee, giant Jenga and a crowd favorite — the plunger game.
The party also included a special memory table, which honored and celebrated the friends and family who have passed. Among the 20 or so pictures, was an oak disc, which had “Wish you were here” burned into it. Those honored included Mrs. Thomas’ lifelong best friend, Gretchen; Mr. Thomas’ dad, Sam Sr.; their brother-in-law, Jeff; and special adopted family members, Nelson, and Victor.
Helping with the arrangements were Fred Sturtevant, Jason Perkins, Diane Thomas, Dwayne and Tammy Theriault and their son, Sammy III, and girlfriend, Brooke, and their daughter, MacKenzie, and boyfriend, Jon.
The couple spent the next week vacationing in Bar Harbor, taking day trips, and spending time with their kids, and fur babies, Fury and Lily.
