PARIS — A grand jury has indicted a Lewiston man for sexually assaulting a girl over a seven-year span beginning when she was just 6.
The nine-count indictment handed down by an Oxford County grand jury Friday charges 48-year-old Clarence Yeaton with eight felony counts of unlawful sexual contact dating back to 2007, starting in Canton and then in Peru.
According to court documents, the most recent alleged incident was in November 2014.
Yeaton was also indicted on a ninth count, a misdemeanor crime of unlawful sexual contact with another female minor, then age 14, in 2013 in Peru.
If convicted he could face more than 70 years in prison. The charges were presented by Oxford County Sheriff’s Cpl. George Cayer, according to the indictment.
