DAYTON — Three people were killed when the speeding car they were in left the road and struck trees late Saturday night. The driver had a suspended license.

The driver, Jill Ann Theriault, 33, of Dayton, and two male passengers, Lee Goodrich, 45,  of Alfred, Devin Nolan, 20, of Sanford, were killed instantly when the “Buick, at a high rate of speed, went off the road on a slight curve and slammed into trees, coming to rest overturned on the driver’s side,” Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland said in a news release.

The Gould Road crash happened 2 miles from Theriault’s home. No one in the car had a valid driver’s license — all were suspended, the report said. 

There were indications of alcohol at the scene — an indication that someone was drinking, Maine State Police Trooper Jonathan Heimbach said. Blood tests were taken, but until the reports come out, police cannot determine who that was, he said. There were no drugs found at the scene and no one was ejected, he said.

 Troopers are attempting to reconstruct the last 24 hours of the three people’s lives to determine where they had been earlier in the night, Heimbach said.
