FARMINGTON — A Celebration of Life memorial service honoring the life and lifetime of Christopher E. Mason of Farmington was held Friday morning, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church, Jay, with the Rev. Ira Hall officiating.

Verna Pike was the pianist and played a medley of favorite hymns. She also played a duet, “The City of God” with his daughter, Alix Mason, violinist. Christopher’s daughter, Alix; sister, Beth Carlson; and brother, Joshua Mason all gave personal eulogies. Joshua shared thoughts from his brother, Jonathan, who was unable to attend.

The prelude included the songs “I Shall See You Soon Again” by Evie and “Does Jesus Care?” by Guy Penrod and George Shea. The congregation sang the chorus of Chris’ favorite song, “God Bless America.”

Family and friends in attendance honored him by wearing Red Sox Nation colors and memorabilia. The recessional was “Sweet Caroline.”

Following services, the church hospitality committee hosted a comfort reception in the fellowship hall. Memorial videos were played in both the sanctuary and the fellowship hall. Private family committal services were held later in the afternoon at Fairview Cemetery, Farmington.

Cremation services and memorial service arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
