LEWISTON-AUBURN — School starts Wednesday in Lewiston-Auburn and several surrounding communities.
There’ll be buses driving students to school and students walking to school, in both cities. Authorities remind motorists to drive with extra care early Wednesday and to allow more time to get to work during the morning commute.
“The first buses will be out at 6:40 a.m., the last bus runs drop off students at elementary schools at 8:30,” said Lewiston School Department transportation Director Butch Pratt. “For those couple of hours there’ll be buses out and about, all over the place. We ask people to be aware, take special care. There’ll be a lot of kids walking. There’ll be a lot more foot traffic.”
