Dylan Koza’s return at running back, Eagles’ overall experience give them slight nod after winning regional title in 2014.

2. Thornton 0-0

Would have been easy to anoint the Trojans as favorite to win third Class A title in four years. TA’s 2013 campaign showed how tough it is, though, to stay intact and repeat.

3. Cheverus 0-0

As long as John Wolfgram roams the Stags’ sideline, you can pencil them in near the top of the leader board. They’ll need to find new horses to carry the ball, that’s all.

4. Brunswick 0-0

RB Will Bessey, QB Thomas Hanson return to backfield for Dragons, who will be tested week-in, week-out in loaded Class B North.

5. Portland 0-0

Bulldogs were junior-dominated and improved dramatically from Week 1 to Week 9 a year ago, suggesting that they will give the heavy hitters fits.

6. Leavitt 0-0

Moving on up to Class B is huge challenge on paper, but hey, Hornets return most of their weapons and have won three state titles at this level.

7. Marshwood 0-0

Hawks have their work cut out for them on both sides of the ball in replacing Fitzy winner Brett Gerry, obviously, but system in place for another run.

8. Bonny Eagle 0-0

Scots traditionally the team to push TA in Class A South, and this season should prove no different.

9. York 0-0

Wildcats are a trendy pick to win it all Class B. Given Marshwood and Leavitt’s recent strength, we’ll play the wait-and-see game.

10. Winslow 0-0

Too many new faces for the Raiders to rank them higher than this, but an undefeated, reigning state champion and consensus Class C North favorite merits place in pound-for-pound discussion.
