WALES — Kylee Veilleux grabbed her own rebound and fired it into the net with just two seconds remaining in regulation to give Oak Hill a 2-1 mid-season victory over Telstar in MVC field hockey action Wednesday.
Abby Asselin opened scoring for the Raiders (5-1) in the first frame with an assist from Erika Hannigan. Becca Howard scored for the Rebels (2-5) off a penalty corner.
Abby Fuller made 11 saves for Oak Hill, while Blair Stevens was outstanding between the posts for Telstar with 21 saves.
Dirigo 5, Hall-Dale 0
DIXFIELD — Sophia Jacques netted a pair of goals Wednesday to propel Dirigo to a convincing 5-0 victory over Hall-Dale in a MVC field hockey tilt.
Sabrina Daoud, Katelyn Olsen and Haley Turner also tallied for the Cougars to complete the scoring.
Morgan Morrow didn’t need a single save to notch the shutout, while Kaylee Magee turned aside 21 shots for the Bulldogs.
Boothbay 2, Lisbon 1
LISBON — Sydney Meader fired a shot into the net with 4:30 remaining in overtime to give Boothbay a 2-1 victory over Lisbon in a MVC field hockey tilt Wednesday.
Nicole Clarke also tallied for the Seahawks (2-4) in the first frame. Chase Collier netted the lone goal for Lisbon (1-5) in the first half of play.
Erica Enmes made 10 saves for Boothbay, while Mikaylia Harnden deflected seven shots between the posts for Lisbon.
Girls’ soccer
Greely 3, Gray-New Gloucester 1
GRAY — Izzy Hutnak netted a pair of goals Wednesday to lead Greely to a 3-1 mid-season win over Gray-New Gloucester in a WMC girls’ soccer tilt.
Jocelyn Mitiguy also tallied for the Rangers (4-0) to complete the scoring. Emma Woods netted the Patriots’ (2-2) lone goal in the second frame.
Madison Cyr made seven saves for Greely, while Jen Sutherland turned aside nine shots for Gray-New Gloucester.
Boys’ soccer
Telstar 2, Mt. Abram 1
BETHEL — Tristen Lilly found the net late in the first half as Telstar hung on for a 2-1 win over Mt. Abram in MVC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
Zach Stone gave the Rebels a 1-0 advantage when he converted a pass from Avery Griffin. Riley McLaughlin scored for the Roadrunners with 33 seconds left in regulation.
Tanner Wheeler made eight saves for Telstar, while Glendon Howard and Caleb Warren combined to record eight saves for Mt. Abram.
