AUBURN — Sophomore Gavin Bates scored a hat trick to lead St. Dominic Academy as the Saints defeated the Telstar Rebels 4-0 in an MVC contest.
Ryan Lutrzykowski had a goal and assist as the Saints improved to 2-1-1 on the young season. Jacob Charest chipped in with an assist. Alex Michaud stopped the two shots he faced on the afternoon.
St. Dom’s fired 35 shots towards the Rebels net, while Tanner House made 18 saves in the losing effort.
Telstar drops to 3-3 on the season.
Rangeley 0, Greater Portland Christian 0 (2 OT)
RANGELEY — In a battle of outstanding goaltending, Rangeley and Greater Portland Christian dueled to a double-overtime 0-0 tie in boys’ soccer action Friday evening.
The squads were equally matched on offense, consuming approximately the same amount of time on possession each.
Goalie Matt Mason made nine saves for the Lions (4-0-1), while goalie Timmy White warded off five shots for the Lakers (1-2-1).
