LISBON — Deliah Schreiber booted a penalty kick into the cage with 1:14 to play in regulation Wednesday to lift Lisbon to a 2-1 victory over visiting Mt. Abram in MVC girls’ soccer action.

Schreiber had the Greyhounds’ first goal, as well, early in the first half.

Alice Cockerhan found the net for Mt. Abram (1-5-1), and Abby Brackley stopped five shots in the loss.

Alexandra Sult made two stops for Lisbon (4-3-0) to earn the win between the pipes.

Sacopee Valley 5, Poland 1

POLAND — Senior forward Morgan Carpenter recorded two goals and an assist to lead Sacopee Valley to a 5-1 victory over Poland in WMC girls’ soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks (6-0) jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead. Sacopee Valley finished several opportunities and scored on two corners.

Sophomore midfielder Nathalie Theriault scored the lone goal for the Knights (1-5) in the losing effort.

Goalie Erin Brewer made 10 saves for Poland, while goalie Hannah Manchester turned back four shots for Sacopee Valley.

Madison 5, Mtn. Valley 0

RUMFORD — Junior midfielder Madeline Wood and senior striker Kayla Bess scored two goals each as Madison ran down Mtn. Valley 5-0 in MVC girls’ soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (5-0-1) led 2-0 at the half. Madison found the door wide open in the second half following key injuries, scoring another three unanswered tallies.

Goalie Karen Flaherty made 11 saves for the Falcons (2-3), while goalie Erin Whalen stopped eight shots to earn the win in net for Madison.
