LEWISTON — Planning Board regular meeting, 5:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers on the bottom floor of Lewiston City Hall. Topics include a discussion about the property at 35 Ellis St. Rear and a review of changes recommended to the city’s comprehensive plan.
AUBURN — Meeting of the United New Auburn Association, 6 p.m. at Rolly’s Diner, 87 Mill St. featuring a presentation by Auburn City Councilor at-large Belinda Gerry. Gerry is running for re-election to her seat.
LEWISTON — School Committee, 6:45 p.m., Dingley Building. Agenda: school enrollment report, vote on new school site selection application, introduction of Ted Hall as proficiency-based learning consultant.
TUESDAY, Sept. 29
LEWISTON — City Council special meeting and workshop in the City Council chambers on the bottom floor of Lewiston City Hall. The special meeting meeting begins at 6 p.m. and topics include review of special entertainment permits and a vacancy on the County Budget Committee. The workshop follows at 7 p.m. and topics include Great Falls TV and an interlocal agreement with Auburn and an executive session regarding property disposition.
THURSDAY, Oct. 1
LEWISTON — Historic Preservation Review board meeting from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Lewiston City Hall. The agenda includes a review of proposed exterior renovations at 46 Lisbon St.
LEWISTON — Lewiston-Auburn Public Health Committee regular meeting, 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the conference room on the third floor of Lewiston City Hall.
LEWISTON — Film “Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World,” 6:30 p.m. at Lewiston Public Library’s Callahan Hall; Ninety-minute film followed by short discussion led by Reza Jalali, coordinator of Multicultural Student Affairs of University of Southern Maine. Free, public event.
SATURDAY, Oct. 3
LEWISTON — PAL Hop Reunion Dance featuring music by The Moon Dawgs and The Rockin’ Recons, 7 to 11 p.m. at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Ave. Catering will be provided by The Green Label and a cash bar by Pedro O’Haras. Tickets are $20 in advance on line (search for PAL Hop Reunion on www.eventzilla.net/events) and $25 at the door. Reservations for tables of eight are available online as well.
