FARMINGTON — Police are investigating three “smash and grab” vehicle burglaries at a High Street apartment house, Police Chief Jack Peck said.
The incidents at 242 High St. were reported to police Friday morning. Side windows were smashed in all three vehicles, which were locked and parked overnight next to Farmington Veterinary Clinic, he said.
Little was taken from them; one had $2 in change taken, he said.
Apparently no one heard or saw anything, and the owners were unaware until Friday, Peck said.
Peck said the “smash and grab” break-ins were unusual because unlocked vehicles are usually targeted.
Officer William Tanner is investigating.
