LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library’s fourth annual Star Wars Reads Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, on the third floor in Callahan Hall. All ages are welcome, and admission is free.

Star Wars Reads Day is a celebration of books set within or about the science fiction franchise. Thousands of libraries and bookstores participate each year, and Lewiston Public Library welcomed hundreds of kids, teens and adults in the past three years of the event.

At Star Wars Reads Day, guests will be able to browse the library’s hundreds of Star Wars-related books, ranging from picture books for children to adult paperback bestsellers, graphic novels, ebooks and audio books.

At craft stations, guests will be able to make their own puppets and bookmarks, character ornaments and other items to take home. Volunteers from ArtWalk will provide free face-painting, and costumed characters from the Star Wars universe will once again be available for photos and autographs.

Guests of all ages are encouraged to arrive in costume. All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win Star Wars books and other prizes. Assorted Star Wars Reads giveaways from participating publishers will be available, including posters and bookmarks.
