SACO (AP) — A man accused of randomly stabbing a woman in a Maine supermarket is expected to enter a guilty plea to a charge of murder.

Thirty-one-year-old Connor MacCalister is charged with killing 59-year-old Wendy Boudreau at a Shaw’s supermarket in Saco on Aug. 19. MacCalister’s attorney, Robert LeBrasseur, has said MacCalister will plead guilty during a court appearance on Thursday.

MacCalister did not enter a plea at a previous court appearance in which a judge ordered him to undergo a mental exam. The judge did not set bail in the case during the prior appearance.

An affidavit shows MacCalister told police he had gone to the store to kill “several random people.” Court records also state that MacCalister said he was “off my meds” at the time of the stabbing.
