1922 – 2015
AUBURN — Muriel G. Bosse, 93, of Lewiston passed away at Schooner Estates in the comfort and care of her family and wonderful caregivers on Monday, Oct. 26.
She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Esdras and Dorothy (Houle) Pelletier. She attended Lewiston schools.
Muriel worked for nine years as an inspector at the Androscoggin Mill. When her sons were in school, she became a school crossing guard at the corner of Spruce and Bates streets. Back then, crossing guards worked for the Lewiston Police Department and they all wore uniforms — she was very proud to wear that uniform. Later in life, Muriel worked for 17 years at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center as a dietary aide.
She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, play beano and go to Foxwoods. She belonged to the Sodality of Les Dames de Sainte-Anne and was a member of Covenant 50. She married Gerard Bosse, the love of her life, on July 24, 1948. He passed away on Nov. 10, 1997. Muriel loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Whether it was to go shopping, take trips or attend family celebrations, she was always ready to be on the go.
She is survived by two wonderful sons; Normand and his partner, Larry Smith, and Roger and his wife, Julie, whom she always referred to as her “daughter” and not her daughter-in-law. She also leaves behind her three grandchildren, Diane Bosse, Danny Bosse and Nicholas and his wife, Patricia “Trish” Bosse; along with three great-grandchildren, Dani Bosse, Lilly Bosse and Rhys Bosse; a niece, Helen and her husband, Charlie Buzzell; her nephews, John and his wife, Serena Morlock, Robert and his wife, Carmen Morlock, Paul and his wife, Sue Morlock, Richard Morlock and Donald Morlock; a cousin, Elaine Moreau; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerard; and her wonderful sister, Gloria Morlock.
