1939 – 2015

LISBON — Diantha Julie Landry, 76, of Lisbon died peacefully Friday, Oct. 30, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lisbon on Oct. 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dolly (Hunnewell) Ruby. She grew up in the local area and attended Lisbon schools. She was graduate of Lisbon High School, Class of 1958. Diantha was married on July 4, 1959, to her loving husband, Michael A. Landry Sr., and they started a family together. For many years, she worked as an inspector for Maine Electronics.

Diantha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was very caring, loving and giving, and she had a heart of gold and always put everyone else’s needs before her own. She enjoyed the simple things in life — time with family and friends, cooking, outdoor activities, hummingbirds, feeding the crows, soft-serve ice cream with her “gal pals,” and her morning newspaper and coffee while trying to solve the Jumble puzzle before her brother, George, did.

She is survived by her daughter; Laurie De-Blois; and her son, Michael A. Landry Jr. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Bethany Saindon, Taylor Guay, Dakota Landry and Zachary DeBlois; as well as her brothers, George Ruby and his wife, Louise; and her twin brother, David Ruby; along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael A. Landry Sr.; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Landry; her brother, Joseph Ruby and his wife, Betty; and stepbrothers, Otis Nelson and Robert Nelson.

The family wishes to thank her favorite “gal pals,” “Aunt” Polly Chase, Sherry Crosman, Doreen Wakely, Ann Chattick and Joyce (Gardner) Pfleiderer, who were always there for her; and also a very special thank-you for the love and support of family and friends during their mom’s brief illness, as well as Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice (Donna) for their exceptional care.

Condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.
