WATERVILLE — Maine State Police say they are looking for a white sedan with two men inside who may be responsible for setting six fires along a 10-mile stretch of Interstate 95 southbound from Waterville to Sidney.

Police said they received reports just before 10 a.m. Friday of numerous fires that had been set in the area.

Sgt. Peter Michaud said troopers working with fire marshals and forest rangers have determined the fires were intentionally set. The fires have been put out.

Michaud said police are looking for a late model white sedan that may have pulled over or stopped along the highway heading south.
