FORT JACKSON, S.C. — U.S. Army Reserve Pvt. Nicholas Durapau has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
During nine weeks of training, Durapau studied the Army’s mission, history, traditions, core values and physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Durapau is the son of Jennifer D. Durapau of New Gloucester.
He is a 2015 graduate of Gray-New Gloucester High School.
