FARMINGDALE — Chloe Dwinell piled up 24 points and hit a 30-foot, buzzer-beating heave at the end of the first half, as St. Dom’s sidestepped Hall-Dale with a 34-27 victory in a girls’ basketball game Monday.
It was anybody’s guess who win this game at the half, with score tied at 12-12. But the Saints (1-1) scored 22 points in the second half to slip away.
For Hall-Dale (1-1), Danni Sweet and Haley Houdlette (five steals) scored seven points.
Mt. Abram 46, Telstar 17
BETHEL — Megan Sorel scored the game-high 13 points, leading Mt. Abram (1-1) to a 46-17 win over Telstar (0-2) in a girls’ basketball game Monday.
Becca Howard was leading scorer for the Rebels with eight points.
By halftime, the Roadrunners were well on the road to victory, building a 21-7 lead. Mt. Abram erupted with 15 points in the third quarter.
Pine Tree Academy 46, Buckfield 42
FREEPORT — The Buckfield Bucks held a 22-16 lead in the third quarter before the Pine Tree Academy Breakers scored 23 unanswered points en route to a 46-42 victory.
The Bucks made a comeback in the fourth, outscoring the Breakers 17-8 but couldn’t get closer than four points.
Alex Goodman had a game-high 26 points, including four 3-pointers and 13 rebounds for Pine Tree (2-0). Stephie Kayumbe had 10 points in the victory.
The Bucks (0-2) had three players in double figures as Ashley Campbell and Lexi Bennett each had 12 points. Emily Swartz finished the game with 10 points.

Pine Tree 51, Buckfield 47
FREEPORT — Jalen Pamalena scored 24 points and knocked down two 3-pointers as Pine Tree Academy slipped away with a 51-47 victory over Buckfield in a boys’ basketball game Monday.
The Bucks (0-2) were leading 27-18 at the half before Pine Tree unloaded with 33 points in the second half.
For Pine Tree, J.P. Tshamala scored 12 points. The Bucks’ Jake Kraske scored 14 points and had two 3-pointers, Hunter Wiley added 13 and Zack Grover had 12.
Lisbon 43, Oak Hill 40
WALES — Jonah Sautter scored 15 points and tossed in a 3-pointer as Lisbon held off stubborn Oak Hill with a 43-40 victory in a boys’ basketball game Monday.
The Raiders took a 24-17 lead at halftime before the Greyhounds (2-0) rallied with 25 points in the second half.
Oak Hill’s Jonah Martin scored 12 points and Marcus Bailey added 11 points.
Dirigo 85, Mountain Valley 47
DIXFIELD — The Dirigo Cougars (2-0) spread out the scoring in their 85-47 victory over Mountain Valley Falcons in boys’ basketball action.
Riley Robinson had a game-high 21 points, while Clay Swett had 20 points. Gavin Arsenault added 15 points, while Gavin Hebert had 11 and and Luke Leuders had 10 points.
Ryley Flynn led the Falcons (0-2) with 12 points, while Alex Ridley, Zach Duguay and Jacob Blanchard had eight points.
Telstar 64, Mt. Abram 54
BETHEL — The Telstar Rebels made a furious comeback when they were down 14 points with four minutes to force overtime in a boys’ basketball game against the Mt. Abram Roadrunners.
In overtime, Telstar started on a 9-0 run and went on to defeat Mt. Abram, 64-54.
Tanner Wheeler led the Rebels with 19 points, with Blake Rothwell adding 17 as he had the crucial game tying bucket with three seconds left in the fourth quarter. Jarrett Bean finished the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Avry Griffin had 11 points.
Dan Luce had 19 points for Mt. Abram, with Trevor Chaput adding 14. Luke Romanoski chipped in with 13.
Both teams are 1-1.
