LIVERMORE FALLS — Police said they are looking for a white male, believed to be between the ages of 16 and 17, who attempted to rob an 85-year-old man Monday night on Sewall Street.
The victim described the suspect as wearing a black hoodie and black mask covering his nose and mouth, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.
The male asked the victim for all of his money, he said.
The suspect, who also appeared to have a small automatic pistol, tried to push his way into the man’s house at about 10:30 p.m. The victim closed the door to keep the suspect outside. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim through the door and fled on foot, Steward said. The victim did not see a vehicle in the area, he said.
Lt. Joseph Sage and officer Connor Willard searched the area on foot and did a wider search in cruisers. Jay police assisted.
Anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area is asked to call the Livermore Falls Police Department at 207-897-3424.
