GOOD MORNING SUN SPOTS: In regard to C.G. in Lewiston asking about the mini horse corral on Riverside Drive in Auburn, I remember that and still think of it when I drive by. I also remember a car drove into the house on the other side of the street coming over the hill toward Auburn. My sister rode horses there. I don’t remember the name, but I remember it being a small corral. It was very sweet. Thanks for bringing back the memory. — J.W. via email.

RESPONSE: Sun Spots has found reference to an Armand Beaudry, now deceased, who lived on Riverside Drive and owned horses in 1969. There was a swerving car accident on his property in August 1972.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you have mice? Do you have dry shelter, out of the wind? Alley Cats L/A and the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society are looking for homes for our feral cats. We currently have nine feral cats at the shelter that have been neutered, wormed and received their vaccines.

Two cats relocated together and confined for a few days to acclimate would be ideal. All they need is adequate shelter, daily food and water and in return they will provide poison-free pest control. If you are interested, please call the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society at 207-783-2311. — Thank you, Melanie Bolduc, Alley Cats L/A.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Tickets for the Healthy Community Coalition’s 6th annual Winter Windfall raffle are now available until the end of January. The raffle is sponsored by Franklin Community Health Network.

The Winter Windfall raffle gives a person the chance to win multiple times as all winning tickets are re-entered into the drawing daily. Most prizes are valued at $50 or more.

Proceeds from the raffle will allow HCC to offer services in the community not covered by grants, and allow for the expansion of current programs such as mobile health unit screenings and home visits to community members in need.

Tickets for Winter Windfall are available from any HCC staff or board member, or by printing out and mailing in the form found at www.fchn.org/news. The Healthy Community Coalition is located at 105 Mt. Blue Circle, Suite No. 1 in Farmington. For additional information, contact Janis Walker at 207-779-2750.
