PARIS — The Western Maine Addiction Task Force is pleased to announce Recovery Coach Training for Project Save ME. The public is asked to consider volunteering for this opportunity to give back to the community and support those who need it.
Applications currently available at local police departments and counseling agencies, including Common Ground Counseling offices, including Norway and Mexico.
Applications are due by Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, and interviews will be conducted the week of Jan. 13. Applicants must be a minimum one year clean and sober and have no history of sexual offenses or violent crimes.
You do not need to be a recovering addict to be a coach, even trained counselors would need to go through the training to become a coach. Background checks will be conducted on all applicants.
The recovery coach training will tentatively be held at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway and scheduled from Jan. 22-24 and Jan. 29-30, 2016. Each day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an hour lunch break. Food and beverages will be provided. Applicants are required to attend all days to pass the course.
Email to daphne@commongroundcounseling.org once the application is completed or fax to 207-739-2467. An online application can be found at www.masap.org/…/docume…/RecoveryCoachRegistration.pdf.
