FARMINGTON — The Farmington Warming Centers will open their doors the first week of January.  

The Warming Center will welcome guests beginning Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church at 110 Academy St. Enter by the door closest to Main Street.

On-street parking is limited, but cones will indicate spaces saved for Warming Center participants.

The Warming Center is open from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. A lunch of homemade soups, bread, fruit and dessert is served at noon. Hot coffee, tea, cocoa and goodies are available all day. Everyone is welcome.

The Thursday Warming Center will be held every week in January and February, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Old South First Congregational Church, 227 Main St. Guests will enjoy making puzzles or crafts, playing cribbage or other games, or just visiting with others.

The Tuesday Warming Center will continue at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church through Feb. 16. From Feb. 23 through the end of March, the Warming Center will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, 133 Middle St., also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No reservations are needed.

If classes in Regional School Unit 9 are canceled for inclement weather, the Warming Center will not be open.
