PORTLAND (AP) — Divers returns to the waters of Portland Harbor in a resumed effort to locate a 23-year-old man who was last seen in Portland’s Old Port area on New Year’s Eve.
The Portland Press Herald reported (http://bit.ly/1W2syVc ) members of the Portland-South Portland dive team and Maine State Police divers utilized a sonar unit Monday in their continued search for James Dyer.
Police say the Saco resident was last seen on Fore Street around 1:45 a.m. when he became separated from friends. Investigators believe he may have fallen in the water.
After divers combed the harbor last week, the search for Dyer was suspended in hopes that either time or temperature might make a body rise and be easier to find.
No new leads were found during the search.
