AUBURN — After trailing by six in the first frame, St. Dom’s used an 11-5 run in the fourth to record a 35-29 victory over Wiscasset in girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Chloe Dwinell led the Saints (6-6) with 14 points, while Abby Castonguay chipped in with seven.

The Wolverines (3-10) were paced by Gabby Chapman with a solid 13-point effort, while Hayhlee Craig added nine.

Morse 42, Leavitt 38

BATH — Separated by only one point at the half, Morse used a 17-8 run in the third frame to pull away for a narrow 42-38 victory over Leavitt in Class A South girls’ action Thursday.

Emma Harrington led the Shipbuilders (7-5) with 18 points, while Noa Sreden chipped in with 10.

The Hornets (5-7) were paced by junior Guard Allie Belaire with 12 points, while Sophia Gilbert added nine.

Gray-New Gloucester 52, Traip 27

KITTERY — Brianna Jordan netted 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds Thursday to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a convincing 52-27 win over Traip.

Grace Kariotis and Skye Conley chipped in for the powerhouse Patriots (10-2) with 10 points each in a well-balanced attack.

Traip (4-9) was led by Jessica Segura with a solid eight-point effort, while Cassidy Delano added six.

Spruce Mountain 46, Mt. View 17

JAY — After sprinting out to a 14-point advantage in the first quarter, Spruce Mountain never eased off the gas and cruised to a 46-17 win over Mt. View Thursday.

Alex Bessey led the Phoenix (3-8) with 15 points, while Emily Hogan chipped in with 11.

Meagan Elkins and Andrea Crosby paced Mt. View (2-7) with five points apiece.

Edward Little 52, Mt. Ararat 17

TOPSHAM — Emily Jacques scored 19 points and Jordyn Reynolds helped out with her 14, pointing Edward Little (11-1) to a 52-17 victory over Mt. Ararat (1-11) in a girls’ basketball game Thursday.

The Red Eddies held the Eagles to single-digit scoring for all four quarters and took a 30-3 lead at the half.

Madison 82, Mt. Abram 38

SALEM — Madison went on a 25-12 run in the second quarter and sped away to post a 82-38 victory over Mt. Abram in an MVC boys’ basketball tilt Thursday.

Mitch Jarvais led the Bulldogs (10-2) four-man assault with 20 points, while Chase Mallot and Chris Beaman each tallied 15.

The Roadrunners (2-11) were led by Dan Luce with a solid 14-point performance, while Trevor Chaput chipped in with seven.

Leavitt 49, Morse 41

TURNER — Leavitt bounced back from four-point deficit early on and raced away to post a 49-41 win over Morse in a hard-fought boys’ matchup Thursday.

Maxwell Green led the Hornets (1-11) to their first win of 2016 with 17 points, while D’Andre James chipped in with 11.

The Shipbuilders (3-9) were paced by Keegan McDonough with 16 points.

Oak Hill 62, Carrabec 49

WALES — Jonah Martin dropped in 16 points Cohen Donnell scored 11 points as Oak Hill (4-9) shook off Carrabec (3-10) with a 62-49 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday.

The Raiders held a 28-13 lead before the Cobras tried to climb back into the game.

Traip 57, Gray-New Gloucester 54

KITTERY — Gray-New Gloucester held a 34-25 lead at halftime, but the Patriots fell apart in the fourth quarter as Traip Academy came out on top with a 57-54 victory in a boys’ basketball game Thursday.

Angelo Succi led Traip with 16 points followed by Joey Cavanaugh with 15. Charlie Driscoll added seven of his 12 points in the crucial fourth quarter.

For the Patriots, Zack Haskell scored a game-high 21 points. John Henry Villanueva scored 12 points and Justice Bowie added 11.

Dirigo 77, Mountain Valley 67

RUMFORD — Dirigo used a 21-13 second-quarter run to take command and hustled to post a 7 7-67 win over Mountain Valley Thursday.

Riley Robinson led the undefeated Cougars (11-0) with a collegiate-like 40 points, while Clay Swett chipped in with 20 points of his own.

The Falcons (1-10) had a trio of players in double figures, led by Ryley Flynn with 17 points. Curtis Steele also contributed with 14 points, while Keegan Davis added 13.
