LEWISTON — Aliette L. Dumas, 88, a longtime resident of Main St., Lisbon Falls, died Friday, Jan. 15, at Central Maine Medical Center with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Brunswick on April 29, 1927, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Irene (Fluet) Racine.
Aliette was educated in Brunswick and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1946.
She married her true love, David Dumas, on July 4, 1951, and shortly after, they settled on Main Street in Lisbon Falls to raise their family.
Aliette worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, and she also worked part time at Willie’s Restaurant. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, formerly Holy Family Church, in Lisbon Falls. Aliette also was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She loved to travel and cruise on the back of her husband’s Gold Wing motorcycle, going to camp at Upper Lead Mountain Pond and spending time with her precious family.
She is survived by her seven children, Valerie O’brien and husband, James, of Glenburn, Debra Tomlinson of Tennessee, Mark Dumas and wife, Lynn, of Northport, Stephen Dumas of Ohio, Michelle Barbay and husband, Thomas, of Missouri, Michael Dumas and wife, Dawn, of Bowdoin, and Stephanie Dumas and companion, Keith Peart, of Lisbon; a brother, Roland Racine of Lisbon Falls; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Huston and her husband, George, of Lisbon Falls; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a longtime dear friend, Phyllis Sterling of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, David, in November 1990; a grandson, Nathaniel Barbay; a great-grandson, Jai Naryandas; a sister, Antoinette Blouin; and a son-in-law, Joseph Tomlinson Jr.
