1929 – 2016
LEWISTON — Eleanor Norma Wilbur, 86, of Rangeley passed on Sunday, Jan. 17, with her family by her side and in her heart.
She was born May 16, 1929, a daughter of Frank and Laura (Robinson) Cosentino. She was born and educated in Rangeley, where she lived all her life. Eleanor married Watson Fulton Wilbur on July 31, 1946. Together, they raised four children and were later blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She truly was the matriarch of the Wilbur Family.
She was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed many years at Kemankeag Pond with her husband, family and friends.
She was independent, thoughtful and caring. Her time on this Earth cannot be measured by the years, but by the number of people that she touched and the many friends she made along the way.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Williamson and her husband, Gary, of Punta Gorda, Fla., Laurel Wilbur of Rangeley, and Robert Wilbur and his wife, Leeanna, of Rangeley; a brother, Lucien (Joe Pete) Dube of Livermore Falls; her many grandchildren; and a lifelong friend, Marilyn Lee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Watson Wilbur; a daughter, Donna Smith; and siblings, Gene Turcotte, George Turcotte, Grace Judd, Frankie Therrien, Rena Breton, Laura Bennett and Louise Welch.
Tributes and condolences may be shared by visiting her memorial page at www.wilesrc.com.
