AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston has announced its February events for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St.

Babysitting certification: Those attending will learn basic safety and CPR/First Aid as well as how to build their babysitting business. Registration is now open. Classes run Feb. 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Youth strength and foundations: Registration is open for the Y’s teen strength and conditioning class for competitive athletes and new exercisers. The class is for ages 12-15 and is held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, March 5-26.

Youth swim lessons: Eight-week session starts Feb. 29. Multiple days and times available. For children ages 6 months to 12 years.

Group power release: Those attending can celebrate 10 years of Group Power at the Y with the launch of #letsmove! Classes will run at 5:30 and 9 a.m., noon and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2. Participants who wear their favorite NFL jersey will be entered to win prizes.

Total body conditioning: This intermediate-level class is geared toward exercisers who aren’t quite ready for higher-intensity classes like Group Power and Boot Camp. Class is Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Mondays 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Tai Chi: New group exercise class with instructor Ruben Cornelius. Participants may clear and sharpen their mind through breath, balance and body awareness. Class is Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m.

Lunch and Learn: “Eating Healthy on a Budget” with Healthy Androscoggin from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2. The program includes lunch. A $5 registration fee is required.
