JAY — A driver who died in a two-vehicle collision Jan. 14 on Route 140 had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal threshold, Detective Michael Mejia said Wednesday.
Toxicology results showed that Tina Dolloff, 45, of Jay had a blood-alcohol content of 0.25 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Dolloff was found unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead after efforts to resuscitate her failed.
The driver of the second vehicle, Spencer Brennick, 17, of Jay, and his passenger, Thomas Young, 17, of Livermore Falls, were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital.
Dolloff had been heading west toward Canton with a destination of Davenport Hill Road in Jay, and Brennick and Young had been heading east toward Route 4, according to Mejia.
The investigation conducted by Maine State Police determined that Dolloff’s Nissan Rogue crossed the centerline while attempting to negotiate a gradual curve, Mejia said. The 2005 Audi A4 Brennick was driving was struck head-on, he said.
