AUBURN — The 44th Annual Lions Tournament will start this Saturday, Feb. 13, with hockey games scheduled over the following four days.
This is the longest-running youth hockey tournament in the country, according to Lions International.
All games will be played at the Norway Savings Bank Arena at 985 Turner St., with the first game at 8 a.m. Saturday between the Maine Gladiators Mini-Mites vs. Huskies. Games will be played on both rinks at the arena, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday and playing through 5 p.m.
On Saturday, the opening ceremony is at 10:20 a.m., followed by the coaches’ game at 11:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, games begin at 11:30 a.m., with the last event — a Squirts skills and drills exhibition — at 5:40 p.m.
The championship games will all be played Wednesday, starting with the 8 a.m. Bantam game, followed by Peewee, Squirt and Mite divisions. Learn to play and Mini-Mites awards will be given, starting at 8:20 a.m.
Closing ceremonies and an open skate will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
