PARIS — A Canton man has been indicted on two felony sex charges stemming from an incident at his home in the Canton Point Trailer Park in November.

Augustus O. Buck, 43, is charged with gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact and violation of conditions of release, according to an Oxford County grand jury indictment. If convicted on all charges, he faces more than 30 years in prison and a maximum $50,000 fine.

Buck was arrested Nov. 30 after Oxford County deputies received a complaint from a woman who reported being assaulted in his trailer on Nov. 28.

At the time of the arrest, Lt. Thomas Harriman of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said Buck had been charged in July with unlawful sexual touching of a 16-year-old girl. Conditions of his release included notification of any change of address and no new criminal activity.

Oxford County Superior Court initially sealed the entire file to protect the identity of the woman, but later unsealed it at the request of the District Attorney’s Office with the understanding that media would not identify her.

Buck was held at the Oxford County Jail in Paris until Dec. 3 when he posted $2,500 cash bail and was released.

Buck has a criminal record dating back to 1991, including nine misdemeanor convictions for criminal trespass, theft, assault and trafficking in dangerous knives. In all, he spent 65 days in jail and was fined $475 for these convictions.

In 2006, he was convicted of felony operating a motor vehicle after revocation and sentenced to serve 48 hours in jail and was fined $600.
