ROXBURY – The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday will continue discussion on obtaining a portable radar speed display sign for Main Street.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Town Office.
Last year, Stan Kaubris and several other residents complained that vehicles were driving too fast on Main Street. At their October 2015 meeting, selectmen received many suggestions from residents about how to combat speeding, including:
• Installing speed bumps;
• Appointing volunteers to pass out educational pamphlets on speeding;
• Installing speed limit signs with flashing lights;
• Constructing a sidewalk on one side of the street.
The board said the request to use a portable radar speed display sign was sent to the Maine Department of Transportation.
Selectmen will also discuss forestry practices in Byron and around Roxbury Pond.
