CANDIA, N.H.— A New Hampshire state representative has been accused of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual encounter.
Kyle Tasker, a 30-year-old Republican from Nottingham, was arraigned Wednesday on three drug charges and one count of using a computer to lure who he thought was the teen. It was actually police working undercover.
Police say he attempted to meet the girl Tuesday but instead was greeted by law enforcement.
Tasker’s bail was set at $250,000. Messages seeking comment on the accusations were left for him and his attorney.
House Speaker Shawn Jasper removed Tasker from the House Children and Family Law Committee. He and other Republican leaders suggested that Tasker resign.
Tasker is serving his third term. He made headlines in 2012 when he dropped his gun on the floor of a state building.
